Scage Future (NASDAQ: SCAG) announced a new strategic agreement with China Huaye Group that could eventually put as many as 1,000 electric heavy-duty trucks to work in China's mining industry.

‍

The agreement brings Scage together with one of China's major engineering, construction, and mining companies. China Huaye operates within the China Minmetals and China Metallurgical Group corporate system.

‍

Under the proposed partnership, the companies will explore opportunities involving mining operations, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and advanced transportation technology. But the most interesting part of the announcement involves those 1,000 trucks.

1,000 electric trucks

‍

Scage is developing electric heavy-duty vehicles equipped with autonomous driving technology. These trucks are designed to transport mining materials without requiring a driver in the cab, using remote monitoring, centralized fleet management, and automated vehicle convoys.

‍

For mining companies, the potential benefits include lower transportation costs, improved safety, and reduced reliance on diesel-powered equipment. And Scage isn't starting from scratch.

‍

According to an October company update, Scage had delivered 203 vehicles since its inception, including 154 autonomous port tractors and 47 plug-in hybrid trucks. During the first six months of 2026, the company also received orders for 43 vehicles valued at approximately $4 million.

‍

Scage also hasn't disclosed how much revenue this latest deal could generate, but for a company with a market capitalization of around $7 million, even a fraction of the proposed deployment could substantially expand its existing business.
